Iggles Blog - Philadelphia Eagles Blog: Reflections of the Newbie

I was the final individual to join IgglesBlog and just got to pass about 6months here.If I had to draw my experience in one book it wouldbe.IgglesBlogtastic! What does that mean?Hell if I know.Theguys told me to say something positive or there'd be no fruit-cup for metonight.Derek, Gabe, and Sam invited me into their cyberhomewith open arms back in the summer.

hat seemed like a nice gesture, butit was really only a ruse to tempt me into the basement.I'd rathernot speak about that incident, but I will say that the mass of Derek in akimono is something I'll never get over.It was fun to be partof a large team that did a "heckuva job" covering the Eagles.Derek isa gifted author and frequently had a different film on things than I did. That was good.I like when a site can offer multiple opinions on asubject.Groupthink is boring.Derek made me doubt the way I lookedat things.Sadly, I was invariably good and he was always wrong, butthat's just a cross I have to bear.I will miss Derek's posts, especially the headlines. They were always interesting and clever, aslight step above my "Sunday Stuff" and "Thursday Thoughts" entries.Gabe, aka BountyBowl, did a big job of bringing a whole other perspectiveto things.I think when Izzy Stradlin left Guns 'N Roses.Slashtried to excuse to the new guitar player what Izzy did, but wasn't surehow to name it.Izzy was just Izzy and that put the band theirunique sound.Gabe made things fun and interesting. He too was ableto work the gameday experience to the site. One of my regrets is that Ican only talking about what I see on TV.Sam is the best sourceof information around the Eagles and the line side of things.Period.I get to take his stuff about three times to make sure Iunderstand it all. That's no insult to him, but instead a commentary on thedifficulty of the issues he's willing to try and explain.Einsteinsaid that sensation is the power to make complex ideas simple.Sam does avery good job of doing good that.I'm also constantly blown away byhis knowledge of assistant coaches.I love that position of things prettywell, but he puts me to shame.Eagles fans are losing a greatsite in the end of IggleBlog, but you acknowledge the old saying.as onedoor closes another one opens.I'll be starting an Eagles site here inthe next few days. You can remain to observe me on Twitter, PE.com, SBNation Philly, and ScoutsNotebook as well.I'm still waiting to benamed lead NFL Draft analyst for Naughty Nurses magazine, but no updateon that place yet. Thanks for a capital run here at IgglesBlog.Time's yours.
