On the last night of the seven-day 2011 Rock in Rio Festival, Guns N` Roses took the present as the closing band, performing in face of hundreds of thousands of screaming maniacs in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The 24-song set included solos, instrumental jams from the lot and classics such as `Welcome to the Jungle,` `Sweet Child O` Mine` and `Paradise City.
Guns N` Roses set the mode with sinister classical music before kicking the night off with `Chinese Democracy.` After finishing their first song, Axl Rose addressed the crowd, saying, "Good evening! Good morning! Now, please bear with with a us and make us a short bit, a short bit here to flesh out what to do about not falling on our asses. I`m going to try to focus on singing rather than run round like an idiot. I`m better at being an idiot."
The crowd exploded as the band tore into `Welcome to the Jungle,` but unfortunately Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal had difficulty with his solo due to struggles with a Star Wars "stormtrooper" helmet. Guns N` Roses also stunned the Brazilian crowd by playing `Estranged,` a dog that hasn`t been performed live by the ring since 1993. Guns N` Roses Rock in Rio 2011 Setlist:
