Trees hosted the 3rd Basement Reunion on Saturday, April 9. It looked like a high school reunion for the kids who chose to cut class rather than sit in the classroom.

All night everyone was hugging each other like seeing a long lost friend. Did people hug each other at the Basement like that support in the 80s? From an upstairs perch one could see the crowd doing some 2011 dance moves to songs from Guns n Roses, AC/DC and even Dio in between sets.

The evening included sets fromNo One, Brand New Machine, Hillbilly Orchestra, Disciple and DT Roxx.

An acoustic set featuring 3 of the 5 Lillian Axe members was provided by:
Ron Taylor, Darren DeLatte and Jon Ster.

Acoustic sets tend to take home the ease and strengths of the air and the songwriting. It was keen to learn their songs stripped down. Ron still has a firm voice to run off the notes. There was some reminiscing from the point during the sets with one-liners such as asking the audience how many of them had "Basement Babies".

Donny Rodd was a regular at the Basement-like a corner barstool. It was meet that he took the stage shortly after midnight to bid up a fistful of his specialized stylings; just him, his guitar and songs that won`t have any recap on broadcast TV in this day of political correctness.

Doyle King from 1310 The Ticket, known to this push for his years at Dallas` Q102, brought outJoey C. Jones to exclude the site down with a two-part set divided between guitarists,Davies Baird and Chris Sheridan. Davies` set had more of a moody, introspective direction that showcased Joey`s lower register.Jerry Markham, Wiley E. Oliver andJohn Howser kept a close rein on both the newer material and the Sweet Savage gems. Chris Sheridan, previously of Sweet Savage, was cordially welcomed to the degree to make a cycle of punches to tunes such as "Do Ya", "Fox on the Run" and "Summer Song". His style wove into the songs with an extra sparkle or sting depending on where Joey was winning the audience. Chastity`s frontman,Scott Baird, joined Joey on vocals for "On the Rocks" to roll up the set.

As the last curtain closed, attentions were off to the tv screens in the way that were showing clips of the many national acts that had the favor of acting on the Basement stage over the years . All of the bands shared the same gracious sentiment to the audience: it took the fans to take the Basement what it was ended the years.
